Alimah draws on her background as a violinist and her studies of middle eastern music and dance to create workshops that expand the individuality and musicality of each participant. Most workshops are geared toward participants of all levels, though you may tailor a workshop to your particular needs and desires. Each class is fiery, inspiring, and sure to make everyone sweat.
Generally, the first half of class is spent drilling concepts with warm ups, movements, and travel steps. That focus is applied to combinations, shines, and structured improvisation or choreography in the 2nd half of class. Class syllabus and choreography notes are included with each class.
Alimah is also available for private instruction, small group masterclasses, and choreographies, and teaches out of her studio on Beacon Hill in Seattle, Washington. She has taught workshops throughout the Northwest.
