NEW BELLY DANCE CLASSES COMING MARCH 9th, offered in south Seattle
I will begin teaching two bellydance classes on Tuesday evenings at my studio, starting on Tuesday, March 9th.
Belly Dance Basics Tuesday evenings: 7:00-8:00 p.m. This class emphasizes the basic yet juicy technique of belly dance, with a dose of Alimah variation! We primarily work on isolations, foundational movements, and travel steps, exploring how our bodies can move and express ourselves in dance.
Belly Dance Spice Tuesday evenings: 8:00-9:00 p.m. Stepping up into the world of variation and combination as well as improvisation, this class builds on the movements taught in Belly Dance Basics.
I have been working on rebuilding my dance technique from the inside out by studying with Tamalyn Dallal, and Raqia Hassan in Cairo. Come and explore these innovations with me beginning Tuesday evening!
Cost is $100 for the 10 week course, or $12 per drop-in class, and class size is limited to 8 dancers. Session runs March 9th through May 25th, with vacations April 6th and May 4th.

WORKSHOPS
Alimah’s workshops draw on her background as a violinist and her studies of middle eastern music and dance to give you insight into how to dance like a musician. Fiery, inspiring, and sure to make you sweat, each workshop is designed to deliver concepts that will expand the individuality of each participant. Most workshops are geared toward participants of all levels, though you may tailor a workshop to your particular needs and desires.
In her signature workshop style, you will spend the first half of class drilling concepts with movements and travel steps, then apply that focus to combos, shines, and structured improvisation in the 2nd half of class.
Alimah is also available for private instruction, small group masterclasses, and choreographies, and teaches out of her studio on Beacon Hill in Seattle, Washington. She has taught workshops throughout the Northwest.
Contact Alimah for rates, availability and workshop topics.
